Beaucamea recurvata (Ponytail Plant, Elephant's Foot, Bottle Palm) [photo taken 27 June 2001] There are three of the same plant in this pot. I purchased this at Target and it came with general bonsai care instructions but no Latin or common name. I believe it to be a Beaucamea recurvata (Ponytail Plant). I try to give it a regular dose of afternoon sun. This non-toxic houseplant is a native of Mexico. It is a succulent. It can reach heights of 5 - 6 feet under optimum conditions. 'Recurvata' means 'recurving back on it's self'.
