Monstera deliciosa & Philodendron selloum

[photos collected off the internet 28 June 2001]
If you search for "Monstera deliciosa" or "Split-leaf
Philodendron" on the web, you will find mostly the same results. I find
the confusion odd, because the plants look wildly different. Monstera
deliciosa (left above), the Swiss Cheese Plant, has a heart shaped leaf
with deep slits as well as holes in the leaves. Philodendron selloum
(right above), the Split-leaf Philodendron, has leaves with large
finger-like segments.
My Monstera was under a foot tall when it was given to
me in 1996 and has yeilded three seperate huge plants. My Philodendron
was only about five inches tall when I purchased it at a harware store in
1997 and I seperated the plants into different pots shortly thereafter.
