Persea americana (Avocado)

I have had my avocadoes since some time in 1999 when my
roommate was making guacamole. I sprouted five, each quickly shooting up
to two feet tall, but a run in with a plant disease thinned the group to
two. The change in climate when I moved sent both of these into shock,
but each sprouted a second shoot from its base. Neither has reached its
previous height but both are flourishing. There is a lush grass
growing in the pot, perhaps of the bottle brush variety.
